Determined by the Organization
‍Conformity with the FRBH National Standard is determined by the adopting organization through self-assessment against the requirements, evidence, and determination provisions contained in the Standard.

No external approval is required. Conformity depends on no assessment, no fee, and no purchase of any service.

Evidence, Not Attestation
Self-assessment does not mean self-attestation. Conformity must be supported by the evidence required by the Standard.

Required activities occur at defined intervals, evidence must be attributable and retained, and identified nonconformities must be addressed as specified by the Standard.
‍
Conformity is demonstrated by what the organization can substantiate, not simply what it declares.
‍
Institutional Separation
FRBH develops and maintains the National Standard. It does not perform conformity assessment, certification, or accreditation against it. The institution that establishes the requirements does not determine which organizations have met them. No conformity assessment or accreditation program currently operates against the National Standard.

Representation of Conformity
An organization that has implemented the Standard and determined its conformity may represent that determination publicly. Such representation reflects the organization's own determination and does not constitute accreditation, certification, or third-party recognition by FRBH.

Future Independent Assessment
The Standard preserves the possibility of independent conformity assessment in the future under published requirements governing independence and conflicts of interest.
‍
No provider has been authorized and no independent assessment activity has commenced.
