Support FRBH

The American Board of First Responder Behavioral Healthcare establishes and maintains the FRBH National Standard for Occupational Psychological Hazard Protection.

The Standard is published without charge and may be implemented at no cost. Implementation support through the National Technical Assistance Center is provided free and on the same terms to every organization. No public safety organization pays FRBH anything, at any stage, and conformity depends on no fee and no purchase.

That is a deliberate position, and it is what philanthropic support makes possible.

What Support Enables
‍
‍Field validation. Version 3.0 is a Provisional Field-Test Edition and has not completed independent field validation. FRBH has committed to publishing validation findings within twelve months of pilot commencement, and has disclosed publicly that commencement depends on external funding and partner availability. Support addresses that dependency directly.

‍Open consensus development. A minimum sixty-day public comment period, with dedicated outreach to labor organizations representing the disciplines within scope, is planned for 2027. Conducting it properly means reaching organizations that have not sought FRBH out, documenting the responses received, and publishing FRBH's reasoning on comments it declines to incorporate.

‍Open publication. The National Standard and its supporting publications are written, maintained, revised, and distributed at no charge, and will remain so as the publication set grows.

‍Public benchmark information. FRBH has committed to publishing anonymized benchmark information on qualifying OPHE criteria adopted by comparable organizations, giving smaller organizations a peer reference point otherwise unavailable to them.

‍General implementation support. The National Technical Assistance Center answers questions about the Standard at no charge, on identical terms to a twelve-person volunteer department and a metropolitan agency alike.

What Contribution Does Not Confer
Contribution to FRBH confers no standing, recognition, influence, or advantage.

• Contribution does not influence the content of the National Standard, its revision, or its interpretation.
• Contribution confers no participation in standards development, no seat on any FRBH body, and no priority in implementation support.
• FRBH performs no conformity assessment, certification, or accreditation of any organization, and operates no such program. No contribution can bear on any determination, because none exists.
• FRBH accepts no contribution conditioned on any outcome, position, or provision within the National Standard.

Accountability
Contributions are unrestricted and are applied to the institutional work described above under the oversight of the Board of Directors. FRBH does not maintain contributions in named donor funds.

FRBH is a nonprofit corporation organized under Florida law and recognized as a tax-exempt public charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. As a Form 990 filer, FRBH's annual information returns are publicly available.
‍
FRBH publishes the current development status of the National Standard, including the process steps that remain outstanding, and an annual statement of progress against each of its published commitments — whether or not the commitment has been met.
